Coming soon...

"Owen Hall" (James Davis)

The librettist of Florodora, James Davis (said to have chosen his pen name "Owen Hall" because he was perpetually owing all) offers an intriguing Irish/Jewish/musical association — he was born in Dublin of a Jewish father. Trained as a barrister, he wrote his first libretto on a bet; although his theatrical successes made him several fortunes, he spent them all and died as he had lived, true to his nom de plume.
